This Jump Gate is used by ships of various sizes to travel faster than light to neighboring solar systems . The gate generates a wormhole and then uses its ring quantum mechanics to stabilize the the energy fluctuations thus controlling the destination of the wormhole with pinpoint accuracy. Many ships were forever lost in deep space due to glitches in the system when these gates were first introduced.
