Following a conflict between two of Inara's largest corporations concerning the right to harvest the gas clouds researchers from several worlds gathered and started a project of upgrading solar panels to such extent that they could provide a significant portion of a spacestation's energy demands. They built a base near the sun, fitted with solar panels to collect energy and a laser system to transfer it to an orbital platform near P1 and also constructed a second base, "Hammerhead" near ReyDelSol to study new technologies before implementing them to the main solar station.
