Ala mining facility

The base was built in the first years of the colonization process and has since been upgraded a number of times. Its main goal was to provide a steady supply of the rare ore inside this asteroid as energy reactor fuel for other more advanced facilities built at the time around the solar system. This ore is so dense it will take many years before it is all mined yet so unstable that if an accident was to take place the resulting explosion could end all indigenous life on the neighboring P9 planet and destroy all the stations nearby. As such this asteroid is protected by a defense grid considered to be impenetrable which was put in place to deter any pirates or guerrilla factions from attacking this strategic objective.
